She ran her first ever AGI courses last Saturday and her times were:
7/17/04 Q score=186, time 39.56
7/17/04 Q score=200, time 32.16 1st place
She is a fast learner.

<< I loved the posts from Sarah and Maggie about their 'experiences.' Of course I forgot to write down all of our times, etc., but I will never forget our first UKC trial and the fun we had. Kailey and Mindy both did amazingly well on equipment they had never seen before - until their crazy human took them to a UKC trial yesterday. I said "tunnel - IN!" for that hoop tunnel, and they both went through! I said "tunnel - IN!" for the crawl tunnel, and Kailey said OK, Mom and went right under and through. Mindy looked in and decided it was way too scary. Maybe next time. The sway bridge and planks were strange, but they did them for me. The sit-jump-sit thingee was on again off again - no pun intended. (Did I mention we ran in both AGI and AGII? On equipment never seen by me or the dogs? I do like a challenge.) I was sitting outside eating lunch, when a nice couple came up and said they had tears in their eyes while they were watching Mindy, my brown girl, run. They thought it was the most beautiful thing they had seen. OK, I thought. She's so fast and adorable, who cares if she still believes that yellow is poison AND burning hot at all trials and must be avoided at all costs? Then we had our Kailey moment. My dependable girl who did everything I asked for had a qualifying run going in the intermediate course with three obstacles left: the sway plank and 2 jumps. She had run across the sway plank perfectly on all her other runs, but this time decided she'd had enough of these things that move under her feet! She jumped clear over it. I said whoa, took her back and she cleared it again. Back she went, but stopped just on the other side. I was trying to urge her further back so she had a better line of entrance, when she turned her back to me, deftly walked across the plank and sped to the other two jumps with me 'directing' from behind. The crowd went wild!! We may not always be perfect, but we are definitely crowd pleasers. And what fun we had!
