BAD-Midwest Beardies
In a message dated 5/30/02 5:33:09 AM, lakota@sanasys.com writes:
Three years ago today I had to say goodbye to my first beardie -- and my best friend! Those of you 'old timers' who were on the list then will remember the gut-wrenching time I went through. Last night I was reading through all of your posts from that day, and thanking my lucky stars for such wonderful friends -- you all pulled me through it with your love and support!! (and I was also sobbing as all the hurt and loss came back to me).
Nikki was, and still is, such a big part of my heart and soul. There are still times I feel her with us . . .if not for her, I never would have discovered beardies! She was my "forever dog", and I'll never forget her. . . . . as I wrote the first year:
Nikki -
You were my world, my heart, my soul . . . . and even though we
are not together physically today, I still feel your presence
everywhere. You will always be a part of me, as love NEVER dies!
You will be, "forever in my heart". Rest well, my sweet
angel - "twas heaven here with you . . . I loved you so!".
Till we meet again at that Rainbow Bridge . . .
Love, your mom
This is a poem I've always had up next to Nikki's picture . . . .
She's just my dog. . . . .
She is my other eyes that can see above the clouds;
my other ears that hear above the winds.
She has promised to wait for me ... whenever ... wherever ...
in case I need her, and I expect I will, as I always have. . .
