Hi, Libby:

We all had a great time at the trial today. Judge Edie Allyn's courses were lovely and flowing and all the Beardies seemed to adjust well to the artificial turf surface. Here are the qualifiers....will write more personal stuff later...its 9:30 pm and I still have Flash to get ready for Sweeps tomorrow!

Hi, Libby,

Certainly missed meeting you at the Specialty. Needless to say, we had a wonderful, thrilling time. The icing on the cake was winning the agility relay with our team members:

Barkley and Andrea Hobe
Dickens and Gisele Barrett
Zoot and Sharon Prassa

We had actually gotten our second leg in Exc. A the week before, so it was very special to finish our title at the Specialty by going HIT. Luck was with us as there were many good fast dogs.

Kira also finished her PT the day before agility!! So she is now Shanaspree Rose of Kilravock, NA, AXJ, PT, CGC

Bobbie Raguse of Lebanon, IN

Kira and Bobbie were a team
Not even a flaw to be seen
As the clock ticked away
During this special day
JWW HIT-what a dream

Hello everybody,

The Carolinas club did a fantastic job with this year's national specialty. Agility was a blast, needless to say. The surface in the indoor soccer arena was really cool...dogs didn't slip at all (from what I could tell). Our courses, as Joanne mentioned, were really nice and flowing. The judge, Edie, was an absolute hoot, also. And, she came out to herding the previous day, where Zoot did his warmups for agility.

Well, thanks to Mary's and Joanne's posts, you know that we qualified in jumpers. I must say it was a beautiful run. Completing weave poles successfully was my goal so it was icing on the cake to get a big Q and a second place...and miss first by .78 second. My consolation is that my relay team mate took first place and jumpers high in trial!!!

The prizes (for all events...performance and breed) were the same and wonderful. 1st through 4th got a water bucket (with a flat side for hanging in the crate) and a polar fleece lap blanket with the specialty logo embroidered on it...blue for 1st, red for 2nd, and the corresponding colors for 3rd and 4th. People loved them. I'd like to find out where they got the lap blankets and steal the idea for future years. HIT...and all major breed wins were all the same...a gorgeous hand painted big wooden box. Each venue had something appropriate painted on the top...and the painted stuff was very muted. So, yes, all prizes were literally equal. I'm not sure of Best of Breed, since Winners Dog would have already won a box...I may be mistaken...maybe they got something else and Best of Breed got the box.

Thank you, everybody, for your good thoughts and wishes on our HUGE Q. It really means a lot! Our cheering section (Pam Harris, Jana Dozet, Sharon Baker and Sandy Remell) were really motivating.

Sharon Prassa of Sacramento, CA

Hi Libby......we also had a good time at the specialty agility trial. Indy was so wound up from seeing all those Beardies that he couldn't concentrate enough to pass standard but he did settle down a bit by the time jumpers came around and got his first jumpers leg and a 3rd place. I was really happy to Q at the national.
